Here is a very impressive looking cheese display that takes very little time to prepare. So, with holiday parties right around the corner, this is one recipe to keep in mind if you want to feature some of your homemade cheese...or just make something delicious with some simple and healthy ingredients.
Here is the list of ingredients you will need:
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar
- 2 cups Fromage Blanc or Cream Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon dried cilantro
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon chili powder (more if you like it hot)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 2 Tablespoons paprika
- 2 to 3 Tablespoons dried cilantro (extra from what is listed above)
In a small bowl or cup, combine all the spices, minus the 2 Tablespoons of paprika and extra cilantro.
In a food processor, put both cheeses and the spice mix.
Pulse until all the contents of the food processor are mixed thoroughly.
Refrigerate the mixture for an hour (this makes it easier to shape, but can be omitted if you are in a hurry and don't mind your cheese being a bit more sticky).
Roll the cheese mixture into three balls.
Roll one ball in the extra dried cilantro.
Roll another ball in the reserved paprika.
Plate the three cheese balls together and serve with non-GMO corn chips or homemade crackers.
