Summer Cooking and Cheese Making Classes with Optional Farm Stay

Yes, you read right.  We are opening our farm for cooking and cheese making classes this summer with the option to stay right here and experience our farm.  Here is a list of the classes I have put on my page titled Upcoming Cooking Classes.  Also, if you want to find out more on reserving a farm stay you can go to that same page to see prices and contact information.

Pitas, Hummus, Tortillas, and Taquitoes May 30th, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployhar Family Farm Cost: $20, which includes a recipe booklet to take home as well as 16 oz  freshly ground bean flour

Stirred Curd Cheddar, Fresh Curd, Pressed, and Aged June 1st, 9am - 3pm - Ployhar Family Farm Cost:  $70, which includes a full lunch, a recipe booklet, a presentation of the science behind cheese making, and cultures and rennet for you to make a batch at home

Sour Cream, Fromage Blanc, and Bulgarian Yogurt June 6th, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployhar Family Farm Cost:  $40, which includes a recipe booklet as well as starter cultures for you to make a batch of each at home.


Healthy Snacks Made with Fermented Peanut Butter
June 20th, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployahr Family Farm
Cost:  $20, which includes a recipe booklet as well as a batch of peanut butter and a sample plate of treats to take home.

Butter and Easy Mozzarella
July 18th, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployhar Family Farm
Cost:  $40, which includes recipe booklet as well as extra ingredients needed to take home so you can make a batch of mozzarella at home.

Easy Recipes with Sourdough
August 1st, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployhar Family Farm
Cost:  $20, which includes recipe booklet for you to take home as well as a starter batch of 1880's San Francisco sourdough

Cottage Cheese and Queso Blanco
August 15th, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployhar Family Farm
Cost:  $40, which includes recipe booklet for you to take home as well as starter culture and ingredients for you to make a batch at home

Scamorza Cheese/Giant Twisted String Cheese
August 24th, 9am - 3pm - Ployhar Family Farm
Cost:  $70, which includes a full lunch, a recipe booklet, a presentation of the science behind cheese making, and cultures and rennet for you to make a batch at home

Make and Take Home Your Own Seasoning Mixes
August 29th, 6:30pm - 9pm - Ployhar Family Farm
Cost:  $30, which includes a recipe booklet for you to take home plus 4 oz of 6 different seasoning mixes we will make with herbs grown and dried on our family farm
