Whole Wheat Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

This evening I decided that instead of chancing the weather on a trip out for youth group, that instead we would stay home and make some cookies.  My lovely assistant Maggie decided that she would help with the cooking, and I will go through the steps she took to make these delicious cookies.

First, here is what you will need:
  • 1 cup SUCANAT
  • 1 cup date sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

First mix together the SUCANAT, date sugar and melted butter.

Next add in the vanilla, soda, baking powder, and salt.

Mix in next the eggs and milk.

Add in the oatmeal.

Finally add in the flour...

...and chocolate chips.

Shape teaspoon sized balls of dough into cookies and bake on a parchment sheet at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 - 12 minutes.
