Honey Roasted Ginger SUCA-nuts

Using honey and SUCANAT, you make a nut very similar to the the heavy sugar-laden honey roasted nuts.  These nuts were a hit at our church potluck this past week-end and so for those of you who asked for the recipe, here it is.

Here is what you will need for ingredients:
  • 7 cups mixed nuts
  • 1/2 cup SUCANAT
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons butter

Puts the nuts on a baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.

In bowl combine the SUCANAT, salt, and ginger.

In a pot combine the honey, water, and butter.   Heat over medium heat, cooking and stirring for 3 to 5 minutes.

Stir in the nuts and stir until they are fully coated.

A third at a time, stir in the SUCANAT mixture until it is all incorporated and cooked onto the nuts.

Transfer the nuts onto a sheet of parchment to cool.
